This spring, Rhythm Muscle received an award through Akademia for Best R&B/Soul Song. The Akademia Gala was on April 19 in Pasadena, CA. Of the award, Rhythm Muscle’s co-founder John Rutledge said, “It was such a surreal and happy moment. Most of the group has spent their lives working multiple jobs while being musicians. It was great to think that so many years of hard work really paid off.” There’s a Whole World Waiting For You was written in the late 70s by good friend of the band, Jeff Logan. “I have always loved and appreciated it. When we were looking for original material, I thought This is a song Dana could really belt,” Rutledge said. “It just fits her voice. I’m so glad he allowed us to record it because it really is my favorite song of his.”
